The Environmental Safety & Health Manager assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining job site safety programs. Acts as an in-house adviser for the environmental, health and safety concerns pertaining to company and project operations and assures compliance with all federal, state, local and company regulations. The Health and Safety Manager will ensure everyone in the company complies with health and safety laws. You will also be responsible for establishing policies that will create and maintain a safe workplace and safe practices.

  • Hold pre-construction planning meeting with subcontractors to review overall site safety program and job hazard analysis for their scope of work, and ensure plans are in place to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure proper pre-planning for all activities and tasks for subcontractors and trades.
  • Manage time and resource allocation appropriately to provide overall safety leadership to assigned project(s).
  • Create safety reports for the project, analyzing metrics and making recommendations for improvement over baseline.
  • If applicable, supervise and provide guidance for the development of Project Safety Assistant, communicating clear objectives, goals and related deliverables and holding direct reports accountable.
  • Evaluate training needs and make recommendations to subcontractors.
  • Actively participate in reducing Project Incident Rates by meeting or exceeding established goals and manage regulatory exposures to zero citations

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, risk management, safety engineering or related field preferable. A minimum of 5+ years of construction / heavy industrial safety leadership experience.
  • Ability to pass extensive background checks for badging purposes; to include NASA, DOT, JLA, CCAFS, PAFB, and FASA BASA
  • Experience in a construction environment is preferred
  • OSHA 500 certification preferred
  • Education/training in Occupational Safety & Health

This position is fully responsible for the project billing process, including responding to management inquiries. The ideal candidate is a professional capable of fulfilling the project accounting and cost reporting requirements of multiple mid-sized projects or singular large project, including day-to day interface with project management, principals and other contractor personnel.


  • Effectively communicate with Project Managers (PM) and Principals-in-Charge (PIC), regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services-related to billing.
  • Ensure up-to-date maintenance of contracts that reflect project needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly invoice package containing draft and final invoices for all billable projects, including all applicable backup.
  • Maintain the billing folders for all projects, with all the appropriate documents, including expense reports, subcontractor invoices, and other invoices as necessary.
  • Ensure that every trade or subcontractor is in compliance with the terms and conditions of his/her contract documents.
  • Analyze the P & L accounts monthly, as assigned by the Accounting Supervisor.

JP Donovan Construction is an AISC certified structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabricator. We are currently accepting applications for a steel detailer/checker. The applicant should be detail oriented and possess a thorough knowledge of structural steel detailing practices and all applicable AWS & AISC codes. This position will perform the full range of contract administration from pre-award through closeout. Perform correspondence, negotiations, monitoring, change order tracking, modification tracking, sub-contractor document maintenance, contract close-out, file maintenance, and interaction; researches, analyzes, coordinates, develops and maintains documentation.


  • Represents the organization as the primary administrative contact on assigned portfolio of contracts.
  • Experience with large and small complex contracts and their administration at various phases of the contract performance. Must have experience with FFP, CPFF, CPIF, T&M contract types.
