PROJECT ACCOUNTANT - Rockledge, FL

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

This position is fully responsible for the project billing process, including responding to management inquiries. The ideal candidate is a professional capable of fulfilling the project accounting and cost reporting requirements of multiple mid-sized projects or singular large project, including day-to day interface with project management, principals and other contractor personnel.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Effectively communicate with Project Managers (PM) and Principals-in-Charge (PIC), regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services-related to billing.
  • Ensure up-to-date maintenance of contracts that reflect project needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly invoice package containing draft and final invoices for all billable projects, including all applicable backup.
  • Maintain the billing folders for all projects, with all the appropriate documents, including expense reports, subcontractor invoices, and other invoices as necessary.
  • Ensure that every trade or subcontractor is in compliance with the terms and conditions of his/her contract documents.
  • Analyze the P & L accounts monthly, as assigned by the Accounting Supervisor.
  • Examine costs to establish agreement with the contract, policy, etc.
  • Generate and distribute monthly profitability reports.
  • Recommend and implement agreed process improvements to the billing cycle.
  • Prepare special project analyses for the PICs, PMs and others.
  • Provide year-end support for the main office, which may include research and reconcilement.
  • Interface with corporate accounting staff in dealing with billing issues and profit recognition.
  • Perform additional assignments, as directed by the Accounting Supervisor.

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or equivalent
  • 2-4 years accounting experience in construction or similar industry.
  • Proficient communication, interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
  • Proficiency in current corporate software packages, as well as standard office equipment.
  • Should possess self-management skills and ability to work with limited supervision, basic computer skills and competency.

STEEL DETAILER/CHECKER - Space Coast, FL

JP Donovan Construction is an AISC certified structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabricator. We are currently accepting applications for a steel detailer/checker. The applicant should be detail oriented and possess a thorough knowledge of structural steel detailing practices and all applicable AWS & AISC codes. Previous experience with SDS/2, CAD and/or Tekla preferred. This is a full time position with an established, well respected company. Wages will depend upon experience and qualification.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
  • Production of shop drawings and erection plans
  • Checking the accuracy of drawings produced by self and others
  • Communicate with other project stakeholders, including GC’s, Engineers, Erectors, etc
  • Knowledge of AWS and AISC standard practices
  • Diligent record keeping
  • Management of multiple projects and associated drawings and RFI’s.
  • Prepare quantity takeoff and pricing on new projects and any change orders on existing contracts in a timely manner

CONTRACTOR ADMINISTRATOR - Space Coast, FL

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

This position will perform the full range of contract administration from pre-award through closeout. Perform correspondence, negotiations, monitoring, change order tracking, modification tracking, sub-contractor document maintenance, contract close-out, file maintenance, and interaction; researches, analyzes, coordinates, develops and maintains documentation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represents the organization as the primary administrative contact on assigned portfolio of contracts.
  • Experience with large and small complex contracts and their administration at various phases of the contract performance. Must have experience with FFP, CPFF, CPIF, T&M contract types.
  • Must have a complete understanding of contract principles, theories and concepts and be fully knowledgeable of practices, techniques, and standards under the Federal Acquisition Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations.
  • Prepare contract change notices, monitor contractor performance, including the reporting and status of contractor and owner deliverables.
  • Maintain an audit file for each contract which will include original contract, all correspondence, changes/deviations, amendments, clarifications, payment schedules.
  • Reviews, redlines and negotiates government and government contractor terms and conditions as well as support the negotiation of non-disclosure agreements. Advises management of contractual rights and obligations as well as provides interpretation of terms and conditions.
  • Interface and coordinate with contractor/subcontractor, intercompany, inter-department and internal department personnel.
  • Provide assistance in coordinating, developing and producing proposals.
  • Support bid and proposal review, approval, and submission with Proposal group to ensure customer solicitation requirements are met as well as FAR/DFAR and company policy compliance.
  • Maintain small business activities as contractually required
  • Support Company’s compliance with Government socioeconomic programs and initiatives. Provide contract summaries and ensure contract execution in accordance with company policy.

JUNIOR ENGINEER (MECHANICAL OR STRUCTURAL) - Kennedy Space Center

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and facilitate required meetings, initiate necessary and pertinent communications regarding, but not limited to RFI management, checkout coordination, quality assurance, document control, and issues resolution with the Owner’s technical team.

CONSTRUCTION MANAGER - Space Coast, FL

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Day-to-day management of the assigned construction project.
  • Management of construction budget, schedule, submittal packages and project sub-contractors.
  • Coordination of RFI’s, Submittals, Site Inspections, Punch Lists, and all other Construction Administration required to ensure a successful project
  • Maintain a proactive working relationship with the customer, sub-contractors and internal team.
