KENNEDY SPACE CENTER – PAD 39B
OCTOBER 24, 2023 – NASA’s GSE performed a successful Mobile Launcher water flow test at Pad 39B. In preparation for the Artemis II Launch, this was the third of many tests to verify the overpressure protection and sound suppression system is flawless.
During liftoff of the Artemis II rocket with Astronauts aboard, 400,000 gallons of water will flood the pad to help protect NASA’s SLS Rocket, Orion spacecraft, ML, and launch pad from the harsh effects of ignition and liftoff.
