The NASA Ares-I Mobile Launcher (ML) Project is for the first phase of the modification of the existing Ares-I ML for the new Space Launch System (SLS) at Kennedy Space Center, FL. It includes removal and storage of existing system components, equipment and materials for reuse/reinstallation; demolition of system components and structure not to be reused; modification and reinstallation of existing structural elements; reinstallation of salvaged equipment/infrastructure, and installation of new structural elements, mechanical and fire systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
As the Prime, JPD was responsible for cost, schedule, safety, management and technical performance of this multidiscipline modification project.
JPD self-performed over 60% of the work on this project.
