Vulcan Modifications Design-Build
Space Launch Complex-3 East (SLC-3E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base is one of ULA’s two main launch sites on the west coast of the United States. Modifications to SLC-3E are needed to prepare for ULA’s new heavy lift launch vehicle Vulcan-Centaur entering service. The SLC-3E Modifications contract is Design-Build, with the design being performed by two design consultants that are managed by JPD’s in house engineering. The major areas of work for this project are modifying existing tank farm infrastructure, adding new tank farm infrastructure, modifying existing vehicle servicing building and infrastructure, and modifying and creating new launch platform structure.
