As the Prime, JPD was responsible for cost, schedule, safety, management and technical performance of this multidiscipline modification project.
JPD served as the prime contractor for this project. The construction of a new flame deflector and refurbishment of the flame trench at the Launch Complex 39B (LC-39B), at Kennedy Space Center, Florida is for the future launches of NASA’s new Space Launch System (SLS). The completed structure will deflect SLS exhaust away from the vehicle and protect structures above the launch pad surface.
JPD provided in-house design, fabrication, and assembly of many elements of the project. Multiple approved plans for the ML project serve as a solid foundation for the requirements of this ULA project, including: Lifting & Erection, Waste Management, Environmental Protection, Storm Water Pollution Prevention, Demolition, Confined Space, Traffic Control and Respiratory Protection.
JP Donovan supported Northrop Grumman throughout the entire project process from initial concept cost and schedule estimates, through design development, selection of the construction team, procurement of materials and construction commencement.
The Eastern Processing Facility (EPF) Complex is over 40 acres with multiple facilities supporting the SCIF spacecraft processing facility main building. As a new 220,000-ft2, 220-foot tall satellite processing facility, JPD served as the first-tier major subcontractor for multiple work packages for this multi-phase, multi-year new construction project. JPD self- performed over 90% of the work on this project.
COMET’s services encompass the management of KSC’s launch infrastructure along with ground processing support for NASA programs.
